Small Island Games was established by Ceri Williams and James Morgan in 2018. The studio is named in honour of the small islands of their childhoods: Ynys Môn and Jersey. Our training as architectural designers feeds our passion to create crafted and distinctive game experiences.


James Morgan

Game Design and Technical Lead

With a background in architecture, James has worked on humanitarian relief projects around the world in addition to working on VR and game design for international charities. James is using his wealth of knowledge to lead the gameplay design and narrative direction.

Ceri Williams

Art Direction and Business Lead

Previously an architect and design tutor, Ceri was the co-creator and illustrator of the game Morphopolis which received the Association of Illustrators ‘New Talent Design’ award. Ceri leads the business side of Small Island Games alongside his role as art director and illustrator.

Louise Anna and Zands Duggan

Music and Sound

Award winning percussionists and composers – Louise Anna and Zands will be developing an original, distinctive and integrated soundscape. It will include live recordings made in Japan!  /

Amy Butt


Amy will be writing the all important haiku poetry and supporting dialogue. She is an architect, researcher and a lecturer at the University of Reading. Amy writes about the spaces of science fiction.

Cash's expertise in narrative design and writing plus his love for both ukiyo-e and haiku make him the perfect editor and advisor for us! He is a partner at Talespinners and was lead writer on Fallen London. / talespinners
